REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Government is hand in hand with Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to monitor mining managements. KPK believes that such move will protect state assets.
Chairman of KPK Abraham Samad said many violated the management of mining. "We demand local government to fix the license of mining management," Samad said on Tuesday, December 2.
A research taken by KPK shows that almost 50 percent of Mining Business Permit (IUP) lacks of Tax Obligation Main Number (NPWP). Also, 50 percent of mining business in Indonesia does not pay royalty.
Samad said that KPK asked local government to revoke irrelevant license. He claimed that repair in mining management successfully increased Non-tax State Revenue of Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources up to 7 trillion IDR.
