REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the First Lady Iriana planned to fly to North Sumatra on Wednesday morning to inspect the Sinabung volcanic disaster in the regency of Tanah Karo.

The president and his entourage including Social Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa will use the presidential aircraft.

It would be the first working visit of the president to the region after his installation on Oct. 20.

The president is to return to Jakarta and arrive at night on the same day.
