REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Golkar Party Chairman Aburizal Bakrie offered an invitation to Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the latter's office here on Friday to attend a reception commemorating the party's golden jubilee on October 28.
"I came to extend an invitation to the Golkar Party's reception to mark its 50th anniversary," Aburizal Bakrie stated at the Vice Presidential Office, Friday (24/10).
Ical, as the Golkar Party chairman is popularly known, humorously remarked that he had invited Kala in his capacity as the party's general chairman.
"I invited him as I am the general chairman, and I am only his successor," he stated.
Kalla was ready to attend the reception, he confirmed.
The presence of the vice president at the reception had nothing to do with the cabinet lineup, Ical said.
"We will not discuss the cabinet. What is my business with the cabinet," he stated in a lighter vein.
