REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto invites all supporters to support the government of Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo as long as the program is good for Indonesian people.
He believes that Jokowi's spirit as a patriot wants to keep the integrity of the nation, the value of Pancasila and the diversity in the Republic of Indonesia. If there are unprofitable programs for people, then Prabowo and his supporters will not hestitate to express criticism.
"That is what we call a democracy," Prabowo said after receiving Jokowi in Jakarta on Friday.
Prabowo also congratulated Jokowi as president. He said that political battle was important for the good and welfare of people. He never considered the political differences and political views becoming a source of friction.
Prabowo will receive the invitation to attend the presidential inaguration on Monday, Oct 20. This afternoon, Chairman of People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) will deliver the letter.
"As Indonesian citizen, I must come. But, I have a personal problem, so I must go abroad. However, if I can finish on Sunday evening, then I will come," Prabowo said.
Previously Jokowi has met with Chairman of Golkar Party, Aburizal Bakrier and officials of the United Development Party (PPP). Jokowi also welcomes Prabowo's intention to criticize him if his administration has negative impacts to the people.
"In future, if there are things that need to be criticized, I am ready for it," he said.
