REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian president-elect Jokowi meets political rival Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta on Friday. Prabowo even said that Jokowi had same vision and mission with him.
"I feel honored by the distinguished guest who will be inagurated as Indonesian president," Prabowo said.
In the friendly meeting, Prabowo said that he and Jokowi had same commitment about the fate of Indonesia.
"I believe that he is a patriot. I believe that we have same vision, the integrity of Pancasila, the unity and the homeland sovereignty protection as our commitment. Therefore, I hope all parties to support Jokowi and his new government," the Chairman of Gerindra Party added.
However, when Jokowi's leadership is out of track, Prabowo will not hestitate to convey critics as a form of democracy. According to the four star general, the political fight is fair, often convey harsh rhetoric, but in the end aiming to the people's hope and people's welfare.
"I hope that my supporters will never consider the differences of political views and competition to become frictions. You do not have to. We must come together," Prabowo said.
