REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Chief of State Intelligence Marciano Norman expressed optimism that the inauguration of new president Jowo Widodo or Jokowi and his vice president Jusuf Kalla on October 20, 2014, would run smoothly.
"There are no indications of any disturbances for the inauguration event on October 20," Marciano emphasized.
However, Marciano called on all parties, including the media, to create a conducive atmosphere ahead of the inauguration day.
"The media should participate to create a conducive situation," he added.
On the same day, Monday (Oct. 13), a meeting was held at the MPR building to review the preparations for the inauguration.
"We will hold a joint meeting with all the factions of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR), which are 10 factions plus the Regional Representatives Council (DPD)," MPR's Chairman, Zulkifli Hasan.
According to Zulkifli, after the meeting, the MPR's board of chairs will personally visit Jokowi's house to deliver the invitation of the inauguration ceremony. The MPR's board of chairs will also visit current President Yudhoyono's house on October 15, 2014.
