REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BITUNG - Chinese investors will invest 3 trillion IDR in the Bitung Special Economic Zone (KEK) in North Sulawesi province to develop infrastructure facilities, maritime and pharmaceutical industries, according to Governor Sinyo Harry Sarundajang.
The North Sulawesi provincial government was ready to provide the Chinese investors with various incentives and facilities to invest in the Bitung KEK, he said in a press statement on Tuesday.
"The Chinese investors are keen to invest in the Bitung KEK. This means that there have been signs of life for the Bitung KEK," he said responding to the recent visit of Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Xei Feng and investors to the Bitung KEK.
Sarundajang said Bitung would become a special economic zone like Batam. He promised that local government will issue pro-investment policies.
