Sucofindo to expand to South Korea

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAKASSAR -- The director of the state-owned inspection company, Sucofindo, H Bachder Djohan reported that the company will expand its business network to South Korea and China.

"Currently, we are conducting a feasibility study prior to the opening of branches in these two countries," Bachder stated here on Thursday.

He noted that the business expansion is a part of an effort to welcome the ASEAN Economic Community, as well as a bid to extend overseas networking and cooperation.

In addition to strengthening Sucofindo's performance in the country, the company has also opened branches in neighboring countries, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Hong Kong.

"PT Sucofindo, which has been operational for 56 years, began its business in trading activities, especially agricultural commodities, as well as flow of goods and security in the foreign exchange for export-import trade," Bachder said.

Along with the business world development, Sucofindo has applied creative strategies and offered competency-based innovative new services.

He pointed out that the company currently offers 85 major types of services in 65 service points, with the support of 32 branches and 34 service unit offices that are spread throughout Indonesia.

In eastern Indonesia, Sucofindo has branches in Makassar (South Sulawesi), Manado (North Sulawesi), Timika (Papua), Tarakan (East Kalimantan), Denpasar (Bali), Palu (Central Sulawesi), and other areas.

Meanwhile, the Commercial Director II of PT Sucofindo, Sufrin Hannan, stated that the expansion to overseas is a part of the global market demands.

"But clearly, widening the company's wings abroad is an evidence that the existence of Sucofindo in the country is strong," he added.
