REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Former prime minister Tony Blair met President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in his office here on Thursday to discuss varied issues, including the importance of countering radicalism.
During the meeting with Blair, Yudhoyono was accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa and Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saefuddin, among several others.
The Indonesian head of state recalled the then prime minister's first visit to Jakarta in 2006 and the emphasis he had laid on the importance of embracing Islam and the West and working together to overcome radicalism.
