REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Three state owned enterprises (SOEs) established a joint venture company to provide financial products and integrated services, which would focus on middle and lower class segment, especially pensioners. Three companies, namely PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI), PT Pos Indonesia and PT Taspen form Bank Taspen Pos Mandiri, which previously named Bank Sinar Harapan Bali.

The three companies have agreed an agreement letter in April 2013 and finally signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday. Bank Mandiri becomes majority shareholders with 59.6 percent ownership.
"We will continue the process to the Financial Services Authority (OJK)," President Director of Bank Maniri, Budi Gunadi Sadikin said on Thursday.

Majority of pensioners still need funding for their business. The joint venture company is expected to help them.
President Director of Taspen, Iqbal Lantaro explained that the bank would not only provide access for pensioners, but also to civil servants. The synergy among SOE companies can help a pensioner to get a cheap and easy funding. Friska Yolandha/Mutia Ramadhani
