REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono asked all parties to support the new government and its president to come together in order to advance Indonesia. He hopes that there will be more role models in Indonesia to lead Indonesia to become a developed country.
"We have to support the next leader to advance this nation," Yudhoyono said on Monday night at Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran.
According to Yudhoyono, Indonesia has been an independent state for 69 years. This country will celebrate the 100th Independence Day in next 31 years. He hopes that any young men and women who attended the event might become the future president and vice president of Indonesia.
To be a leader, someone has to work hard, passion and consider the best thing to do for this country. Yudhoyno prays to Allah that Indonesia can be a developed country in 2045. If Indonesia wants to be a developed country, all communities must be in a harmony, united and should not be divided.
Yesterday, on August 17, millions of Indonesian citizens from Aceh to Papua celebrated Independence Day with great pride and joy. Indonesia is home to the world’s biggest Muslim population. However, Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists and followers of other faiths live in peace and harmony.
