PTBA to complete Banjarsari steam-fueled power plant this year

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PALEMBANG -- PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk is completing the construction of Banjarsari steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) in Lahat regency, South Sumatra by the end of the year. The power plant has capacity of 2x110 megawatt (MW).

"We are optimistic to complete the construction before December 2014," Corporate Secretary of PTBA Joko Pramono said recently.

PLTU Banjarsari is one of programs to add electricity in South Sumatra, Jambi, Bengkulu and Lampung province. The 220 MW power plant will be distributed to energy system in southern Sumatra. It is part of company's efforts in providing lighting in Sumatra.

PTBA plans to provide electricity up to 1,400 MW during next few years. As one of best coal mining companies in the world, PTBA will facilitate the realization of steam-fueled power plant construction.

In the first half 2014, state owned listed coal miner recorded a  net profit of 1.16 trillion IDR compared to 0.87 trillion in the same period last year. PTBA currently has various advantages, including a promising stock price reaches 4,900 IDR per sheet.
