REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Jakarta composite index opened 0.25 percent lower at 5,076.22 points on Monday.

The index of 45 most liquid stocks fell 0.36 percent to the level of 865.14 points.

Meanwhile the Indonesian currency rupiah gained against the US dollar trading at the level of 11,726 per dollar from 11,795 per dollar earlier.
