REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The National Mandate Party (PAN) has no discordance with the Red-and-White Permanent Coalition although Hatta Rajasa has yet to appear in public since Tuesday, its deputy secretary general said.

"We as part of the permanent coalition have no issues with the coalition. There is nothing special about the absence of Pak (Mr) Hatta," PAN Deputy Secretary General Adin Zain said here on Wednesday evening.

He said that Hatta had been represented by the PAN deputy chairman (during Prabowo's political statement) at Prabowo's Polonia Success Team headquarters.

Adib said although Hatta Rajasa did not come together with the Coalition Team at the Polonia headquarters, he still attended the team's meeting at the PAN executive board office.

"Of course, I believe there were reasons why he did not attend the Polonia gathering, such as personal matters and others," Adin Zain said.

Hatta Rajasa is the general chairman of PAN and was running as the vice presidential candidate of Prabowo Subianto, who was the presidential candidate, competing with the Joko Widodo (Jokowi)-Jusuf Kalla (JK) pair in the July 9 presidential elections.

The General Elections Commission (KPU) on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, announced the results of the election.

Prabowo on Tuesday (July 22) withdrew from the 2014 election process because he believed the election was filled and marred with widespread fraud.

When he made the statement on his withdrawal, he was not accompanied by his running mate Hatta Rajasa.

Hatta also had not signed on the statement paper, which was read by Prabowo on his withdrawal.

On Tuesday, the KPU announced the results of the election.

KPU Chairman Husni Kamil Manik announced that the Jokowi-JK pair had won the election. Jokowi and JK will be Indonesia's upcoming president and vice president following their victory.

The Jokowi-JK pair had secured 70,997,833 votes or 53.15 percent of the total 133,574,277 valid national votes, while Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Hatta Rajasa had received 62,576,444 votes or 46.85 percent.

Earlier, the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa presidential pair had rejected the election process and results of the recapitulation of vote tallies by the KPU citing massive fraud.

The pair's witness, Rambe Kamarul Zaman, read the statement of their rejection signed by Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa during a KPU recapitulation plenary meeting.
