REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- An NGO from Indonesia, Fast Response Action (ACT) plans to open a representative office in Gaza to help Muslims in Palestine. This office is important due to Israeli and Palestinian conflict, which continued to rise. A war can be stopped any time, but the impact requires recovery steps for victims, especially civil society.

"With the opening of our representative office, ACT can more quickly deliver humanitarian assistance from Indonesian people in emergency or recovery process," Chairman of ACT, Ahyudin said on Wednesday.

Palestinian tragedy happens again today. Beside the negative impact, it also brings positive things, the emotional and spiritual closeness, which becomes stronger between Indonesian Muslims and Palestinians. The friendship between Indonesia and Palestine must be continued, so that ACT can be a central communication.

On Monday, ACT has managed to deploy two Indonesian volunteers, namely Andhika P Swasono and dr. Fakhrur Razi to Palestine. They entered Gaza through the neighboring country, Jordan.

"I beg prayer from all Indonesian people, so that Allah (God) can give the ability to carry out this mandate perfectly," Ahyudin said.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and presidential candidates, Prabowo Subianto and Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also pledged to offer financial assistance to Gaza residents, while various NGOs and university students have begun to collect funds from the public.
