REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDA ACEH -- The Aceh provincial police will focus on securing the distribution of basic necessities during the fasting month of Ramadhan and the post-fasting month festivities of Lebaran.
"We have instructed the ranks and files of the provincial police to focus on securing the distribution of basic necessities, so that the public can fast and celebrate Lebaran conveniently and smoothly," Aceh Police Chief Inspector General Husein Hamidi noted here on Friday.
The traffic police will play a significant role in the distribution of basic necessities in Aceh, Hamidi added.
Therefore, the police will launch operations involving the traffic police in order to secure the distribution of basic necessities, he stated.
Currently, the distribution of basic commodities in the westernmost province of Indonesia has been running smoothly, and the police will continue to safeguard the roads used to distribute basic necessities across the province, Hamidi remarked.
"We have taken every effort to secure the distribution of basic necessities. Until now, we have not received any reports regarding shortage of basic necessities in the province," he stated.
Meanwhile, Chief of the Aceh Land Transport Organization (Organda) H. Ramli emphasized that the distribution of basic necessities in the province has been running smoothly.
