REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, HANOI -- Vietnam and the Philippines should further strengthen cooperation to lift bilateral ties to strategic partnership, said Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
Dung made the remarks while receiving Philippine Minister of Foreign Affairs Albert del Rosario here on Wednesday, according to a press release by Vietnam's Foreign Ministry.
During their meeting, the Vietnamese prime minister proposed the two countries' foreign ministries coordinate in building a roadmap for bilateral cooperation towards strategic partnership as consented by the leaders of the two countries.
Albert del Rosario, for his part, said his visit to Vietnam is to implement the initiatives and agreements reached during Dung's visit to the Philippines in May 2014.
The Philippine foreign minister informed Dung of the talks with his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Binh Minh also on Wednesday, during which the two sides exchanged views on cooperation in a wide range of fields, especially in politics, economy, security, defense, agriculture, education, tourism, maritime and fishery cooperation.
The two also discussed measures to further boost bilateral relations and exchanged views about regional and international issues of common concern.
