Indonesian university students to perform in Bulgaria folklore festival

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- As many as 23 college students of the cultural art expedition of Padjadjaran University in Bandung, Indonesia, will perform at the International Folklore Festival to be held in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, on August 16-28.

"A number of countries from around the world will take part in this festival. Indonesia is one of them," Indonesian International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF) President stated here on Monday.

Ninety countries are sending their delegates to participate in the International Folklore Festival.

The students from Padjadjaran University will perform traditional Indonesian music and dance at the festival. They will also display and serve Indonesian food.

In 2013, Indonesian delegates only performed three forms of traditional dances, such as the Sundanese dance, Betawi dance, and Javanese dance. However, this year, they will perform at least five dance forms, such as the Kalimantan dance, Betawi dance, Sulawesi dance, Balinese dance, and several east Indonesian dances.
