REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, RAMALLAH -- Qatar has pledged a USD 60 million-loan to Palestinian unity government to pay wages of the Hamas-appointed employees in Gaza for the coming three months, announced Spokesman of the Palestinian government Ihab Bseiso.
In a press statement, Bseiso said that the money will go a special fund to pay the employees' wages until a legal and administrative committee review and take decisions regarding all the appointments made since the start of the Palestinian division in 2007.
He expressed the government's gratitude for the Qatari help to end division and reach a Palestinian unity.
A row emerged days after the formation of the unity government, when the Palestinian Authority refused to pay salaries of Hamas-appointed government employees in Gaza Strip while Hamas demand those employees should be added to the PA payroll.
