REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, HANOI -- Japanese warship "Kunisaki" arrived at Vietnam's Tien Sa port in central Da Nang city on Friday to take part in the Pacific Partnership (PP) 2014 exercise, reported state-run news agency VNA.
The visit by Kunisaki (LST-4003), an Osumi class tank landing ship of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), will last from June 6 to June 15. It will be involved in activities such as advanced healthcare training, helping to repair healthcare units, cultural and sports exchanges in Da Nang city with a participation of some 400 people, according to VNA.
The PP 2014 includes activities of seminars on emergency care and stabilization of patients, injury on the battlefield, health and recovery care for burnt patients, basic resuscitation, and combating infectious diseases, among others.
PP is an annual deployment of forces from the Pacific Fleet and the United States Navy, involving the largest humanitarian and disaster response-preparation in Indo-Asia-Pacific, said the VNA.
