Soekarno's wax figure revealed at Madame Tussauds museum in Hong Kong

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, HONG KONG -- The new wax figure of Indonesia's independence proclamator, the late Soekarno revealed at Madame Tussauds museum in Hong Kong. It looks exactly like the first Indonesian president.

He is one of the most important national and international leaders in Asia. Soekarno's wax figure dressed in white military uniform displaying the colourful military ribbons. He also wears a black Peci hat and showing a friendly smile.

Visitors can more close to the influential leader, who inspires many people. Born in 1901 in Surabaya, Sukarno proclaimed Indonesia's independence on August 17, 1945, then he became the first president until 1966. He died in 1970 and left a huge legacy for global peace.

The sculptor carried out a very complicated research to process the wax sculpture, such as got information from Soekarno's families and watched his videos.

Soekarno's wax figure will be on display at the Historical and National Heroes section, further strengthening the strong array of international leaders already present at the attraction.

Madame Tussauds Hong Kong, part of the renowned chain of wax museums founded by Marie Tussaud of France, is located at the Peak Tower on Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. It is the first and one of the only two permanent Madame Tussauds museums in Asia.
