REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MANILA -- Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his entourage left Manila for Jakarta on Saturday after a two-day working visit to the Philippines.
Boarding Indonesian Air Force One, Boeing Business Jet 2 (BBJ2), President Yudhoyono and his entourage left Jesus Villamor airbase in Manila at 10.30 am local time.
Before leaving the Jesus Villamor airbase, President Yudhoyono said his visit to the Philippines this time was part of efforts to fight for the interests of the nation and of the state, and to strengthen relations and friendship between the two countries.
During his visit to Manila, the Indonesian head of state attended East Asia Regional Forum, and had a meeting with his Filipino counterpart Benigno S Aquino III at Malacanang Palace.
The tete-a-tete between the two leaders was followed up with a bilateral meeting between the delegations from Indonesia and the Philippines.
At the Malacanang Palace, an agreement on the delimitation of exclusive economic zones (EEZs) bordering the two countries was signed in the presence of Presidents Yudhoyono and Aquino.
The agreement was inked by Indonesian Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa and his Philippine counterpart, Albert F. Del Rosario.
Besides, agreements in the fields of education and anti terrorism between the two countries were also signed.
