REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesian popular musician, Ahmad Dhani expressed his support to presidential hopeful Prabowo Subianto and running mate Hatta Radjasa. Prabowo figure who has a military background to be one of reasons why Dhani provided his support.
"I still believe until now that only the military figure can lead this country," Dhani said recently as reported by Irfan Fitrat.
That is why several artists who are also members of parties supporting Prabowo-Hatta have joined the Indonesia Youth Movement (Gema Indonesia), which seeks to ask young people as potential voters in the upcoming presidential election.
Dhani believes Prabowo's capability as former commander of Indonesian Army's Special Forces (Kopassus). He said that Kopassus was a combat troop, which had no doubt in taking a decision. Prabowo can be a decisive leader.
Dhani also invited all military families to support Prabowo-Hatta. He said that Hatta could complete Prabowo's figure with his experiences in bureaucracy. Dhani is ready to become a campaigner in winning both candidates.
