Banten governor decommissioned

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Banten governor, Ratu Atut Chosiyah has been decommissioned by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono through a decree of 28/P/2014 on Friday.

Minister of Home Affairs, Gamawan Fauzi said that President also installed Deputy governor, Rano Karno to become executing task in the province.

"Yes, the decree has been signed. Karno's position remains a deputy governor, but he will carry out all governor duties," Fauzi said on Friday as reported by Andi Mohammad Ikhbal.

Karno has full authority related to promotion, rotation and mutation of provincial government officials. However, it must be coordinated with Ministry of Home Affairs.

Chosiyah underwent her first trial at Corruption Court, Jakarta on Tuesday. He became the defendant related a disputed election case in Banten.
