REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Hatta Rajasa led a coordination meeting to accelerate the construction of steam power plant with capacity of 2x1,000 megawatt (MW) in Batang, Central Java on Friday. The meeting was attended by President Director of PLN, Nur Pamudji and Director General of Electricity ini Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jarman. Rajasa said that the constrained area was still 29 hectares (ha).
"We ask the developer (PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia) to complete it. We are optimistic with various approaches to resolve it," Rajasa said on Friday as reported by Muhamad Iqbal.
For the first time, government developed a 2x1,000 MW power plant in Indonesia with super critical technology. It will supply 30 percent of electricity in Java. There will be a deficit in electricity power in Java in 2017-2018. If the land acquisition is not yet completed, the plant construction will also be delayed.
