REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOJONEGORO - Indonesian Vice President, Boediono expressed his expectation that the next government could build the double track railway in Java to reduce traffic density and accidents. The double track railway is expected to reduce the use of fuel subsidy, especially for motor cycle.

"Java is Indonesia's logistic center," Boediono said when visiting the construction of a double track railway project in Bojonegoro, East Java on Friday.

Government now has completed the construction of double track railway along 727 kilometers in Northern Java, which will connect Jakarta to Surabaya.

"The development in some other locations has not been completed yet, but we will accelerate the process as soon as possible," Boediono said on Friday.

About 80 percent of transportation infrastructure in Java is still dominated by roads and highway. Double track railway will increase the train frequency and capacity up to 300 percent.
