Indonesia attends Global Oceans Action Summit at partner country

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, LONDON -- Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Sharif Cicip Sutardjo is heading an Indonesian delegation to the Global Oceans Action Summit (GOAS) being held in The Hague from April 22 to 25, 2014.

Indonesia is a partner country of the GOAS 2014 being participated in by delegations from 87 countries and four international organizations, Danang Waskito, the first secretary of the Indonesian embassy in The Hague, the Netherlands, said on Tuesday.

Minister Sutardjo is scheduled to hold a meeting with Dutch Agriculture Minister Sharon Dijksma during his stay in The Hague.

They will discuss follows up of their previous meeting in Jakarta in November 2013 when Indonesia and the Netherlands signed a cooperation agreement on fishery and aquaculture.

To discuss preparations for the GOAS 2014, Indonesia hosted an Asian Conference on Blue Growth and Food Security in Bali, June 2013.

During the GOAS 2014, Indonesia is also participating in several side events and exhibition on Blue Economy.

The Global Oceans Action Summit for Food Security and Blue Growth is being organized by the Government of The Netherlands, in close collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Bank and the Governments of Grenada, Indonesia, Mauritius, Norway, the United States of America, in The Hague, The Netherlands from 22 to 25 April, 2014 at the World Forum conference center.
