REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Cyrus Network (CN) in collaboration with Center for International Studies (CSIS) carried out a survey through exit polls. The result, Indonesia Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) got majority of votes.

There are big five parties with majority of votes, namely PDIP (19.26 percent), Golkar (12.86 percent), Gerindra (10.26 percent), Democratic party (7.7 percent) and National Awakening Party (PKB) (6 percent), while other 10 parties are only getting votes below five percent.

Exit poll survey carried out by interviewing 8,000 respondents spread across 2,000 polling stations in 2,000 villages in 77 constituences, 33 provinces throughout Indonesia. Comparison between men and women is 50:50. This survey used multisage random sampling method with confidence level of 95 percent and margin of error of 1.1 percent.

Executive Director of Cyrus Network, Hasan Nasbi explained that PDIP could not meet 30 percent of votes.

"PDIP is still below 20 percent. Probably, the party will only reach maximum of 26 percent of votes," Nasbi said on Wednesday as reported by C56.

Head Department of Politics and International Relation in CSIS, Philips J Vermonte said that this possibility was if all votes were not answered, or if voters keep secret their votes in choosing PDIP. The team is still waiting for the final result.
