REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of Golkar party as well as presidential candidate Aburizal Bakrie stated that his party will not have a coalition with other political parties in the upcoming presidential election held on July 9.
"Golkar has its own presidential candidate. We can also propose a name for vice presidential candidate, either from the party or professional," Aburizal noted before casting his vote for parliamentary election on Wednesday.
According to him, Golkar is certain and optimistic that it will gain 25 percent of national votes during the parliamentary election, which is the minimum requirement for a party to propose a presidential candidate in the July 9 election.
Aburizal added that he is open for a coalition later if he is elected as Indonesian president.
