Drug trafficker facing 15 years in jail

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- A drug trafficking operator from Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), is facing a 15 year jail term with a fine of Rp3 billion.

Prosecutor Anak Agung Ngurah Jayalantara told a district court here on Thursday that Hendra Kurniawan (43)was a big operator of drug trafficking violating anti drug law and the law on money laundering.

"The suspect is an active operator of drug trafficking and has committed money laundering," Anak Agung said.

A girl friend of the suspect Nana Juhariani was also facing a 5 five years' imprisonment and a fine of Rp500 million on similar charges.

Hendra was nabbed red handed by the National Anti Narcotic Agency (NMM) in possession of 408.7 grams of methamphetamine, upon arrival at Ngurah Rai airport on 2 April 2013.

The BNN officer received information from three friends of the suspect arrested earlier here including Sebastian Simanjuntak, Alfath Fitra Kusuma, and Sugiono.
