REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Although banking growth next year was expected to slow, PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) as the largest private lender by assets in Indonesia continues to expand its physical branches. Company will open 50 new branch offices in 2014.

"We continue to open 50 new branch offices every year," President Director of BCA, Jahja Setiaadmadja said recently.

All branches will be established in Indonesia. BCA has no plan to expand abroad like other national banks. Setiaadmadja said that national banking market still has a great potential, so that company would continue to focus on development in the country.

BCA's branch offices will be supported by addition of 4,700 units of automated teller machines (ATMs). BCA is also bank that has not run a branchless banking business, so that company has no plans to run this business next year. However, he recognized that business of branchless banking in Indonesia was pretty good.

"We will focus on physical branch now. But we see that there is a possibility for branchless banking business in future," Setiaadmadja said.
