Chris Jon becomes a victim of Indonesia-Australia's tension

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian boxer who is also winner of World Boxing Association (WBA) Championship, Chris Jon becomes a victim amid tensions in relationship between Indonesia and Australia over wiretapping case some time ago. Jon lost his main sponsor, Golden Eagle Coffee, one of Australian tea-coffee companies ahead of the World Championship on December 6, 2013.

Jon lost of funds worth 250 thousand USD. However, Golden Eagle representatives refused to give a statement over that. Dragon Fire Promotion as Chris Jon management estimated that it was caused relationship between Indonesia and Australia.

"I have practiced many years in Australia and they always welcome. I hope both countries can resolve their political conflicts," Jon said on Sunday.

Chris Jon management ensures that the World Championship between Chris Jon and African boxer, Simpiwe Vetyeka will still take place at Metro City, Perth, Australia in December 6, 2013. Jon now opens up sponsorship ranging from 100 thousand USD to several parties. The offering will be officially closed on December 3.
