"Do not say you are righteous. He is the most knowledgeable about the righteous" (An- Najm [53] : 32).
Never consider yourself pure and clean because the nature of yourselves in the knowledge of Allah SWT. Do not praise your advantage because human eye is not blind.
Indeed, no man was more foolish than man who considered him/her self clean and pure. No man was more intelligent than the humans who praised his/her goodness and glory.
And, no man was more stupid than the people who considered themselves were never wrong. Or so the translation of the message of Allah in the above verse.
On reflection, what was possessed by humans until he/she worth to feel proud? Were not humans always in the favor of Allah SWT outpouring that he/she would not be able to thankful for?
Did not he/she had have sins which was not necessarily forgiven not? Did not he/she have a shameful secret that had not been uncovered? Was not he/she still have sins which were still covered by Allah SWT?
People who behave as (quasi self-confessed clean and pure/ goody goody) was not aware of the nature of their self. Was not Allah SWT has been well received their charity of worship which were just a little bit, then forgive their big sins?
Would not that have given enlighten to him/her until he/she was able to turn away from the wrong path is Allah? Had God not cover faults and forgive his/her sins?
Thus, was man worth of showing off and claimed to be clean and righteous before God Almighty? Verily Allah is Aware the circumstances of His servants. Indeed, it's not worth it if someone claiming to be a clean and righteous man.
Wrong mindset and poor desire had inspired devil said to God, "I am better than that You created me from fire, and him You created from the ground" (Shaad [38]: 76).
The overbearing nature was a casuse for devil to be accursed creature of all time. When people feel self-righteous, superior and cleaner then what's his/her difference with the behavior of devil? Do not let him/her to be cursed by it.
Their Pharaoh nature to feel strong and noble prompted somebody to say, "Is not the kingdom of Egypt mine?" (Az-Zukhruuf [43]: 51).
Allah SWT then humiliated Pharaoh. Qarun was also felt himself clean, strong, and noble that he said, "Verily I was given the treasure because the science is there to me" (Al- Qasas [28]: 78).
Thus, would not people try to exercise restraint and stop of such an attitude, and then submit that assessment to God? Why people still use his/her tongue to describe him/her to someone else?
In fact, the attitude and behavior was sufficient to provide an overview of the true self, because humans were viewed not from boasting about his/her kindness, but of attitudes, moral behavior, and deeds.
