REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Financial Services Authority (OJK) launched the National Strategy for Financial Literacy on Tuesday. It associated with Association of Financial Services Institutions, such as banking, insurance, capital market, finance, mortgage and pension funds.

Blueprint of financial literacy was inaugurated by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and attended by some ministers, Governor of Bank Indonesia, Jakarta Governor, CEO of Financial Services Institutions, academics and public. OJK also introduced a mini website for consumer education and protection, as well as Financial Customer Care (FCC) in number of (area code) 500-OJK or (area code) 500 655.

Yudhoyono explained that public has not really understood about financial services. In fact, financial service industry continues to grow, but it is not followed by understanding of financial services community itself.

"Not all Indonesian people fully understand the financial services and not all of them use it," Yudhoyono said on Tuesday.

There is only one solution to overcome this problem that is doing a movement or a national financial literacy campaign. He said that Indonesia still have the potential and opportunity to grow and develop more brilliantly.
