Indonesia's Army develops anti-tapping technology

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Indonesia's Army with Surya University conduct research to develop anti-tapping technology. It aims to prevent wiretapping carried out by various parties. The device is able to prevent communication of Indonesian authorities, which can be intercepted by other countries.

"With this technology, Army at least can no longer be tapped by illegal parties," Chief of Army Staff Gen Budiman on Tuesday.

Budiman said that anti-tapping technology development was not motivated of wiretapping case by US and Australia. It has been launched long before the tapping issues in Indonesia. The research and development has been conducted in last two months.

Indonesia's Army and Surya University will also develop other tools related to defense, such as satellites, explosives, nanotechnology and vaccination. Total budget for technology development reached 35 billion IDR.
