REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian government will propose a resolution to United Nation (UN) for US tapping case as there is no seriousness from Australian government to discuss this case. Indonesia will join with Brazil and Germany.

"We urge government of UN members to create principle of accountability in information and intelligence gathering activities," Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marty Natalegawa said on Tuesday.

Natalegawa said that tapping and espionage activities were out of date. Therefore, government will firmly convey their responses over Australia and US wiretapping.

"This is not the Cold War era. At this century, I think wiretapping issue might far behind us. We will be more resolute, straightforward, measurable in delivering the responses," Natalegawa said.

Minister of Trade, Gita Wirjawan said that wiretapping activities by Australia and US over Indonesia would disrupt bilateral relations. It also threatens the stability of economy and sovereignty of both countries. Australia's relationship with Indonesia includes various sectors, especially agriculture and animal husbandry. It must be addressed in order not to be disturbed.
