REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Islamic boarding school must not only focus on developing religious education, but also community's economic. It can be implemented by establishment of credit unions and recruitment of workers to be deployed on business units in Islamic boarding schools.

Chairman of Board of Trustees of Indonesian Students Network, Marzuki Alie said that the recruitment was able to reduce unemployment among people of districts and cities. Unemployed workers will become productive workers and get incomes. Islamic boarding school through credit unions is able to give loans to people in need.

"There is no interest rate. There is only a profit sharing system to its members," said Alie who also one of Presidential hopeful of Democrat Party's convention on Monday.

The system is very important to attract entrepreneurial community. For example, small business unit becomes large from time to time. If Islamic boarding schools do such financing system, it will give maximal results. Community who participates in such financing system may not act deviations, because they understand that the money belongs to community.

"Development of entrepreneurship is our responsibility. It is able to establish community independence to form a superior society," Alie added.
