E Kalimantan will supply 3,000 cattle

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SANGATTA - East Kalimantan will supply more than three thousand cattle in next three years to support meat self sufficient program in 2015. Head Department of Agriculture and Livestock in East Kutai, Sarifuddin Ginting said all cattle would be fund with state budget and regional budget.

"All cattle will be managed by farmers in 18 districts in East Kalimantan," Ginting said recently.

There were 1,218 cattle in 2013 distributed to farmer's groups and expected to increase in next year. About 128 cattle were fund from state budget, while 610 cattle from provincial budget and 480 cattle from local budget of East Kutai.

The beneficiaries, previously, has been determined through rigorous process, ranging from maintenance readiness and prepared feed. Number of cattle that will be distributed depends on number of members and based on proposals.
