Brunei, Timor Leste Leaders Confim Participation in Bali Democracy Forum

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUTA -- Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Hassanal Bolkiah and Timor Leste's President Taur Matan Ruak have confirmed their participation in the Sixth Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) to be held in Nusa Dua, Bali, on November 7-8, 2013.

The two neighboring countries' leaders and President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono are scheduled to land at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, on November 6, the airport's operational head, Major Eko Adi Nugroho, said Wednesday.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is expected to officially open the Forum. This year, the theme of the Forum is "Consolidating Democracy in Pluralistic Society".

The BDF sessions will include a general debate and interactive sessions presenting two ministers as the panelists to discuss two sub-themes of BDF VI, namely "Conducting Free and Fair Elections" and "Building and Strengthening Democratic Institutions".

BDF aims to develop and intensify dialogs on democracy for improving mutual understanding and appreciation among various nations.
