Business delegations from 19 Mideast countries to explore Yogyakarta

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID , YOGYAKARTA - Seven representatives of Middle East countries on Saturday (26/10), assessed further cooperation with the Provincial Government of Yogyakarta. 

They welcomed by Deputy Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Paku Alam IX in Kepatihan Yogyakarta Governor's Office.

According to Febrian A Ruddyard, Director of Middle Eastern Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the ambassadors visiting program was intended to prepare the upcoming event of Indonesian-Middle East Up Date that will take place in Yogyakarta, December.

"The goal is to introduce Mideast regions to businessmen and the people of Yogyakarta. Simultaneously introducing business potential of Yogyakarta to Mideast businessmen," Ruddyard said in Kepatihan Yogyakarta.

According to the plan, he added, 19 Middle Eastern countries will bring their trade delegations to Yogyakarta on 10-12 December 2013.

"There will be seminars and workshops in the event," he said.

The delegation also visited Gunungkidul for business exposures of Gunungkidul and other districts in the province.

"According to the program, we first introduce the potentials and we hope they can push their own businessmen to invest in Yogyakarta," Ruddyard said.

The program held every year, and the event in Yogyakarta is the fifth. "Previous event held in Surabaya, Bandung and so on," he said.

Deputy Governor of Yogyakarta, Sri Paku Alam IX welcomes efforts to encourage Mideast businessmen to invest in his province.

"Yogyakarta has potentials in cultural arts and education sectors," Paku Alam IX said
