REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The young Indonesian tycoon, Erick Thohir offered to be one of the juries in the event of Taruna Merah Putih Award. The new owner of Italian Inter Milan FC crowned as a jury in the field of sports.

"Erick Tohir is a tycoon with passion and awareness for sport," said Chairman of Taruna Merah Putih, Maruarar Sirait said in Jakarta, Wednesday (23/10).

Maruarar said the event was made to initiate the birth of young talents in various fields. On the challenge of global competition, Indonesia required human resources with high integrity and professionalism.

"Indonesia should not be only a market, but also a winner in global competition especially in Southeast Asia," he said.

He added, Taruna Merah Putih Award will be held on the evening of October 28, 2013, coinciding with the commemoration of The Youth Pledge day in PDIP party headquarter.

The Prize will be awarded talented youth with real achievements in the field of sports, arts and culture, creative economies, and education.

"Taruna Merah Putih Award involving credible juries such as Erick Tohir in the field of sports, Yohanes Surya (a physicist) in the field of education, Samuel Watimena in the field of the creative economies, and Chairman of Hipmi association for young entrepreneur category," he said.
