Designers Gather in Bandung for Meet

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,BANDUNG --  30 September, 2013, more than 45 delegates representing 13 Asian nations have gathered in Bandung, Indonesia, for AsiaMeets 2013.   While in Bandung, the delegates, who represent The Design Alliance Asia, have chosen Summer Hills Bandung for their base where they will be meeting to discuss upcoming projects. “We are very happy to be in Bandung this year,” said The Design Alliance Asia Secretariat Kelvin Wee. “Summer Hill Bandung offered all the facilities that met the needs of our delegates, including convenient meeting spaces and comfortable accommodation.”

The Design Alliance Asia works with various governments in Asia to raise awareness about the importance of design in industries.  In 2012, associates of The Design Alliance Asia coproduced an exhibition in Hong Kong with Hong Kong Design Institute on the importance of colours and their influence in the Asian design culture.

In 2011, they met in Vientiane, Laos, to host a seminar for both government and business industry leaders on the importance of brand packaging and design strategy. The conference was organized by members of The Design Alliance Asia: Indonesia.

Founded in 1999, The Design Alliance Asia (tDA Asia) is a collaborative network of multidisciplinary design consultants and educators in Asia who have all contributed significantly to the design industry and are individually ranked among the best in their respective countries.  With Associates currently represented in China – Beijing and Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Laos, Lebanon / Middle East, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, tDA Asia continues to seek and engage with designers in developing Asian countries that are not on the radar screen of the established design world.
