REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesia is currently entering fourth phases of food crisis stage or very worrying because Indonesia has too many imported food products. Member of Commission IV in the House of Representative, Viva Yoga Mauladi warned that this situation might happened for certain purpose.

"We can see the government deliberately allows import of food products in large number," Mauladi said recently.

Flood of imported products is caused by problems on access to credit and capital from the government.

The situation discourages younger generations in Indonesia from agricultural business, despite Indonesia is known as agricultural country in the world.

Based on data of agricultural census conducted by Statistics Indonesia in May 2013, there has been a decline in farm households from 31.17 million in 2003 to 26.13 million in 2013 or decreased 1.75 percent per qa.
