Police question 38 witnesses over the missing artifacts from National Museum

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Jakarta Police Department with Central Jakarta Police questioned 38 witnesses after four collection of ancient artifacts of Mataram Kingdom in National Museum were reported missing to police on Wednesday. 

The missing objects are crouching dragon plate, lettered crescent plate, Cepuk or container, and Hariha plate. These objects are relics of Ancient Mataram Kingdom 10th century from East Java. All objects are made of gold and were displayed on two floor building of Gadjah Museum.

"Until now, we have examined 38 witnessed. There is still addition of two security officers who are still under investigation," Head of Public Relations in Jakarta Police Department Comr Rikwanto said recently.

Rikwanto said 38 witnesses were 15 members in museum archaeology team, 12 security officers, head of museum household, alarm technician, CCTV technician and head of museum.
