Govt warns hajj pilgrims over coronavirus transmission

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, REJANGLEBONG - Government warns hajj pilgrims over coronavirus which currently occurs in Saudi Arabia and has taken some lives.  

"Coronavirus is endemic in Saudi Arabia. Recently, 44 people of Middle East countries died and 88 others are infected," Acting Regional Chief of Medical Officer in Rejanglebong of Ministry of Health, Ahmad Juli said on Monday.

Indonesian people and hajj pilgrims all over the world are asked to rise awareness to keep their clean and healthy life by eating nutritious foods, maintaining their stamina and wearing masks while performing hajj in Saudi Arabia. As precaution measrues, they can take vaccination such as influenza vaccine as this virus attacks through respiratory system.

According to Regional Head of Hajj and Umrah Affairs in Rejanglebong of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, M Yamin, there are 184 hajj pilgrims from Rejanglebong. They will depart from Padang, West Sumatra, in September 2013.
