REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Distribution of small business loans (KUR) reached 23.14 trillion IDR until July 2013. This number increased by 63.8 percent compared to the last year.

"This number increases significantly compared to the last year and closes to our target of distribution of 30 trillion IDR this year," Deputy of Development and Restructuring in Ministry of Cooperatives and Small Medium Enterprises, Choirul Djamhari said on Friday.

Djamhari expressed his optimism that this target would be achieved and possible to be exceeded. Indonesian people are more familiar with this loan scheme and they are interested to take the scheme which has demonstrated good results and profits.

Since small business loan program was launched in late of 2007, this loan has reached 120.94 trillion IDR and has been distributed to 9,004,313 borrowers. Currently, government tries to make some innovations on the scheme and also lower its interest rate, so the loan is more attractive.

Government still maps inventory list of small business loan and its problem to find weak points of program, whether executing bank, insurance agency or regional implementation unit. In the near future, government will also publish matrix as material for evaluation.
