REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Non performing loan (NPL) of small business loan (KUR) in state owned banking company, PT Bank Mandiri, increases in the first half of 2013. The figure has increased from 1.68 percent the last year to 3.41 percent in first half of this year.

"The high NPL is caused by distributing lending to individual rather than to linkage," Commercial and Business Banking Director of Bank Mandiri, Sunarso said.

Sunarso explained that small business loan was more vulnerable to individual than linkage. Therefore in second half of 2013, banks will distribute more small business loan through linkage. With opening of opportunities for lending through linkage, bank is optimistic that NPL and loan's distributions can be better.

Until the end of second quarter of 2013, Bank Mandiri distributed 12.16 trillion IDR to small business loan to 237 thousand borrowers. This value grew 40.9 percent compared to same period in previous year.
