Semen Indonesia's net profit grows 22.9 percent

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - State-owned cement producer, PT Semen Indonesia records net profit growth of 22.9 percent at a level of 2.58 trillion IDR in first half of 2013. This growth is in line to revenue of 11.4 trillion IDR or increases 31.9 percent compared to same period in the last year.

"Company's revenue growth is supported by increase of sales about 18.3 percent at a level of 12.23 million tons. About 99.2 percent of sales are domestic sales, while rest is export sales," President Director of Indonesia, Dwi Soetjipto said on Wednesday.

Semen Indonesia records significant increase in abroad sales volume which reaches 170 percent, while domestic sales volume grows 18 percent. Soetjipto said this increase was supported by production of two new plants, Tuban IV and Tonasa V. As a result, market shares of company increased from 40.9 percent to 43.6 percent.

About 95.53 percent of revenue comes from domestic worth 10.91 trillion. To maintain its dominance in domestic market, Semen Indonesia continues to boost sales to foreign markets, especially Southeast Asian countries. During January to June 2013, Semen Indonesia records revenue in foreign markets worth 511.64 billion IDR.
