Telkom books net profit of 7.12 trillion IDR

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - State owned telecommunication and network services company, PT Telkom recorded excellent net profit of 7.12 trillion IDR in the first half of 2013. It increases 10.84 percent than 6.42 trillion last year.

"Increasing profit was supported by increase in revenue of 40.16 trillion IDR from 36.72 trillion IDR last year," Vice President of Public Relations in Telkom, Arif Prabowo said on Wednesday.

Telkom hold a competitive race in telecommunication sector by conducting business efficiency, not only in terms of operational cost but also ability of management to minimize debt. Telkom targets to rise profit up to 80 trillion IDR this year to expand its business to 10 countries, such as East Timor, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Telkom reinforces Telkomsel (subsidiary of Telkom) by developing its broadband and expanding it to international as business focus in 2013 to maintain growth performance of 2013 above average growth of industry.

In the first half of 2013, Telkomsel also showed impressive performance and gained profit of 8.57 trillion or increased 17.5 percent than 7.295 trillion IDR last year. During the first half of 2013, Telkomsel built 7,928 new base stations including 5,395 units of 3G base stations. Telkomsel have total of 62,225 base stations in the first half of 2013.
