President meets regional officials from Communist Party of China

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Secretary of the Communist Party of China from Guangxi Province, Peng Qinghua finally met President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the palace on Monday. Indonesia and China launched economic zones called China-Indonesia Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone or CIETCZ in Jakarta.

"I hope that relations between Indonesia and China will increase in the future. There are many areas where we can work together, especially in economic and socio cultural areas," Yudhoyono said.

Volume of trade between China and Indonesia reaches more than 50 billion IDR and is expected to increase in the future. The visit also aims to explore investment opportunities. In Bekasi, Jawa Barat, both countries would build an economic zone on area of 500 hectares (ha) and 120 ha of them would be built as an industrial area. While in Guangxi, China, the industrial location is located in southern part of China in Fangchenggang city.
